An ambitious impresario, Hillard Elkins (Peter Straker) brings together eight Song and Dance men and women to audition for a forthcoming West End musical ‘Sammy’. In their desperation to impress the once famous but now jaded cabaret singer turned producer, the auditionees draw inspiration from the life of Sammy Davis Jnr who ‘was the wrong look, height, face and race’ to make it, but is now arguably known worldwide as the ‘greatest entertainer who ever lived’.

Sammy explores addiction, charisma, desolation, inspiration, and triumph tackled and conquered by the great man; and his growing impact on a younger generation of struggling artists living in today’s multicultural Britain. The show’s promise, is an innovative piece of entertaining theatre featuring an array of memorable Sammy Davis Jr hits and original high velocity Tap routines re-imagined for the British Stage.
